The past years have been very dynamic for the housing sector. There have been a number of new demands related to working from home or in shared areas, the growing need for people to move and exercise more, and to spend significant time outdoors. The desire to live closer to nature has increased, and as a result so has the demand for out-of-town houses and holiday properties.
These trends have led to some changes in the design briefs for residential buildings - the need to plan more spacious and light rooms with space for work areas, the provision of larger terraces, separate roof-gardens for relaxation, facilities for pets, with more spaces for communal use. As technology advances, there is a growing demand for "smart buildings".
